I was the presenter of Granada's 6 o'clock news programme for 10 years. Today, in a nutshell, I specialise in helping experts communicate the complex simply and effectively - and to broadcast not narrowcast!
I gained a wide journalistic experience during 20 years working as a TV reporter and presenter, editor and producer for Granada Television before becoming a communications consultant in 1993.
I have known Roderick for sixteen years. We first worked together when I was producing corporate video programmes and he composed some fantastic music. We then collaborated when I started running Media Training and Presentation Training courses. Roderick managed (effortlessly it seemed to me!) to gain access to key decision makers in leading national and international companies and the top London PR organisations.
Apart from providing Media and Presentation Training in the UK, I spend a lot of time abroad lecturing, training and advising major corporations and organisations on key communications issues. I am accustomed to working at Board level and am very experienced in helping people for whom English is a second language.
I am a qualified teacher, with a Post-graduate Certificate of Education and taught for several years before turning to broadcast journalism.
